In August, Wyoming Stock Growers Land Trust purchased an easement on 320 acres of Eva and Lowell Clark’s ranch.  The Property, known as Clark Country, is located approximately 13 miles northeast of Cokeville, Wyoming and located in ‘Button Flat.’  The Property contains a variety of habitats and includes subirrigated meadows, portions of Smith’s Fork River, mixed sagebrush grasslands, and a small cottonwood gallery.  Irrigated pastures on the Property are utilized for both grazing and haying.

The Clarks’ conservation easement will ensure that the property is available for ranching and agriculture in perpetuity.  This will also protect the scenic vista of Smith’s Fork River and the cottonwood gallery from State Road 232 as pressure increases from the ex-urban development of Cokeville.  Clark Country is the largest parcel the Land Trust has conserved in Lincoln County and the Land Trust’s third easement in the county.
