In your words, what does your job entail?
I handle all the finances and office management for the Land Trust. This means that I’m responsible for ensuring our budget is accurate and on track, paying all our bills, and ensuring donations are handled accurately. I also keep track of office supplies and equipment, scheduling and facilitating meetings, and ensuring our staff can be productive and successful both in and out of the office.
What is your favorite part about your job?
I love being able to say that I have a small part of keeping Wyoming, Wyoming. Being born and raised in this state, it holds a very special place in my heart, and I don’t want it to change. Also, I work with some pretty great people, including our board and landowners. We honestly have the best community.
What is the most common question you get from folks, along with your go-to answer?
From staff, it’s usually “how much budget do we have left for this?”. From donors and landowners, it’s usually “Can I speak with [insert name of other staff member]” I prefer working behind the scenes, so I’m alright with not being people’s first choice when I answer the phone.
What is your favorite way to spend a day off?
On my days off, I enjoy spending time with my son Lane and my husband Rod. We love our quiet family weekends that usually involve multiple movies and good food. If we aren’t doing that, we love to travel and I’m a voracious reader, so I’ve always got a book or two handy.
